Hermit crabs are a brilliant winter bait, mainly due to the fact that hidden away in their shells is a 'sack' full of juices which give off an extremely strong scent. When the peelers have finished peeling, hermits become a great substitute. They have become a popular choice with the shore anglers and when fishing for smoothounds but are most renown for their sucess when targetting flatties such as dabs and flounder. These are the larger Hermits and come in packs of 4-5 per pack.
